Program Description
Backup Rx provides business class Internet based data backup and data management services and products. These services and products are offered through a network of partners located throughout the country. Partners generally are IT Outsource firms or software management firms. Partners may resell these services and products to their clients. Partners do their own billing and provide Tier I support directly to their customers. Backup Rx provides Tier II support to the partner and upon request by the partner Tier I support to the client. Normally Backup Rx has no contact with or direct knowledge of partner’s customers. Backup Rx provides technical training, marketing and sales support to its partners.
Program services and products
Data Backup
This is the entry level service. Backup Rx provides a small java application that resides on the client computer. The application gives the clients a user interface to select data files to be backed up and to set a schedule for the data backup. The user interface is feature rich offering the ability to install on virtually any operating system, and providing automatic plug-ins for Exchange mail box, SQL, Oracle, and many more. The application may be installed multiple times on multiple computers making this a cost efficient way to protect an entire enterprise even over many offices.
Replacement appliance servers
Backup Rx offers an appliance server branded as Liaison which holds a virtual image of client machine(s). The virtual image holds the operating system, programs and continuous data backup on the machine(s) being protected. Should one or more client machine go down for any reason the client can be back in operation within minutes by switching to the Liaison appliance. After the production machine is put back into service the Liaison can ‘fail back’ to that machine without losing any data.
Failover server
Most clients are more interested in the Failover Server Service. In this scenario the appliance is generally a virtual machine located in a Type II SAS 70 certified data center. In event the clients facility becomes unavailable for any reason the client may continue to operate remotely from any computer with an Internet connection from their virtual server located within the certified data center just as if they were sitting at their own desktop. All their programs and continuously up to date data will be there live and waiting to be called into service.
